What is peer-to-peer AI inference?
Peer-to-peer AI inference connects a buyer to an independent model provider. The provider runs a model and returns its output; the buyer pays for the inference consumed. Gyblos is building a marketplace for this exchange, with USDC payments on Solana.
A market for model requests
A buyer chooses an offer by model, input and output token prices, service observations and declared data policy. In the planned direct route, a local proxy sends requests to the seller. Inference runs off-chain; Solana supports identity and payment settlement. The blockchain does not run the language model.
P2P inference and distributed inference
A P2P marketplace connects buyers and sellers. It does not require splitting one model across unrelated machines. Distributed inference divides model execution across devices; combining devices into a seller node is a separate possibility, not a requirement or a currently validated Gyblos capability.
Direct access and a managed gateway
The primary Gyblos design connects the buyer’s proxy to the seller, with a buyer–seller payment channel. A managed gateway is a separate planned access route with a public API and prepaid balance. It introduces an intermediary for both requests and funds, so it has different trust assumptions.
What model verification can establish
The planned verified-model seal applies only to eligible open-weight offers with the log-probabilities needed for statistical audits against reference weights. It is not a proof for every response, a guarantee that answers are correct, or a privacy guarantee. Closed-weight offers cannot earn this seal through public-weight audits.
Who can read a prompt?
In direct mode, the seller processes the prompt and can read it. A declared retention policy is not proof of enforcement. Audit handling, disclosure and retention still require validation before launch. Do not send sensitive data on the assumption that P2P hides it from the provider.
Current status
Gyblos is in development. The public site explains the intended protocol; terminal sessions and catalog examples do not demonstrate a live marketplace. The public paper separates built, tested and planned work. Production discovery, delivery guarantees, auditing and recovery remain validation work.
